Go to your Google Tag Manager account, which you have connected to your smashleads™ form. If you do not have a connected GTM account yet, you can find out how to do it here.
Go to the Google Tag Manager. Under the item "Variables" activate all click variables.
Create Trigger Go to the "Trigger" tab in the menu. With the button "New" in the upper right corner you can create a new trigger. Name your trigger.
Click trigger If you only want to measure certain clicks on specific icons or the Next button in your shape, you can select clicks on "All elements". In the next step select the function that the trigger should only be triggered under a certain condition. In the last step you can enter the click class of the icon field you want to track in the right field. You can find the click class in your smashleads™ dashboard in the form builder in the icon settings.
Create a new trigger for every single answer button in your form.
Create tag Go to the "Tags" tab in the menu. At the top right you have the possibility to create a new tag.
Set tag types You can choose from a number of different tag types. We recommend using Google Analytics, Google Ads or Facebook Pixel.
Click tag using Google Analytics as an example (FB pixels identical) First select the tracking type "Event". Now you can assign the whole thing to a category which will be shown later on Google Analytics. How you want to name it is up to you, just make sure that it is unique. You can also name the action as you like. Leave the label and the value blank.
Here you also have to create a tag for each reply button.
Create Google Analytics Variable Confirm the checkbox "Enable settings to overwrite in this day". Then you can enter your Google Analytics Tracking ID. Just add the trigger to the tag and save the tag.
You can now view all statistics in your Google Analytics account.
1 - Create a tag associated with your Google Analytics account. You can set the tracking type to "Event". The category as well as the action should be defined so that you can quickly recognize your form. Important: For the label you have to set a variable. For example, if you want to collect data for your form proxy, name the label: "form proxy ".
2- As the trigger you set the "click trigger" on all elements.
3 - Define the "Click Text" variable in the last step. Go to the settings of the menu item Variables and activate the click variables.
